Red nose wine

Red nose wine

Well you have to, dont you? Caz and Simon were very grateful to us for having Sparky and Toby for the weekend, so in good boater fashion they expressed their gratitude with a gift of wine and beer. And just to make us feel better the proceeds from the purchase of the wine go towards “Red Nose Day”. So you see we have to have a drink – what a shame!

Sparky the lurcher

Sparky the lurcher

Meet Sparky the lurcher and Toby the Labrador. They came to stay with us for the weekend while Caz and Si went for a gourmet weekend to Salisbury.
Sparki and tobi are boat dogs so they soon made themselves at home
We had a lovely weekend with lots of walks. Good therapy for me.

Company set up

Thursday, February 19th, 2009

Thanks for all your help with choosing our company name. We had a total of 14 responses (blog, email, twitter and text), 6 suggesting something different, but most saying that they liked The Roaming Boat Company, so that is what we have called it.

Company number is 6823204

So no Ju we aren’t following your suggestion that we ” add pub entertainers to your portfolio and you could call yourselves ‘The Daniel Oakley Cokey Karioke Company’ “

Valentines Day

Wednesday, February 18th, 2009

Paul treated me to a day out at the Affenpinscher dog show near Melton Mowbray, to go and see the other male in my life – Little Eddie. I am just able to tell you about it as it was an even worse wrench to leave him behind than before. Eddie had really shot up, all leggy, but very confident. The dog who won best in show was bred by Dee and Chris, who also bred Eddie. Congratulations

Karen and Paul

Karen and Paul

Our idea for a name “The Roaming Boat Company” has not been well recieved, so we are asking for your help please.

Paul and I are both qualified teachers and currently provide a range of services e.g. seminars, workshops, project management in Higher and Further Education, management consultancy and fundraising for charities etc. Paul also sells the odd product or 6 e.g. fenders for boats. I also do a bit of dog training now and then.

Most of the organisations we work with already know us, ie that we live and work from a boat.

So all you talented and imaginative people out there please help and send us your ideas for a name.
Thanks

Our new Company

We are thinking of taking our accountant’s advice and starting our own company. What do you think of
“Roaming Boat” ? It seems to say who we are. Otrher names we looked at, with a boaty theme were
“Smart Cut Solutions”
Green Boat (already taken)
HESS (short for He Earns She Spends)
Any thoughts?
